The culinary scene has fantastic restaurants with an array of cuisines and ambiances to enjoy a meal in. There are many international menus with bold flavors available, such as Red Iguana for authentic Mexican meals, Valter’s Osteria for gourmet Italian classics, and Manoli’s for fresh Greek fare. Locals adore the Neapolitan wood-oven pizzas at Settebello, the fresh seafood dishes at Freshies Lobster Co, and the signature sushi rolls at Takashi. One of the best date venues is Franck’s Restaurant, an avant-garde bistro near Big Cottonwood Creek. You can find the best (and most sustainable) seafood in town at Current Fish & Oyster, and Copper Onion is the place to be for brunch.  
 
There are casual neighborhood gems for a quick bite to eat, like specialty sandwiches from Feldman’s Deli and fried chicken from Pretty Bird. There are places to enjoy dinner with a show, such as the laid-back Garage on Beck with live music and a garden patio. Hip lounges and upscale bars can be found all over the communities, like the eclectic Campfire Lounge
 
The shopping scene in the Salt Lake area is thriving and provides residents with everything they need. Lots of department stores, pharmacies, and supermarkets are conveniently located throughout the region for everyday items. Tons of retail complexes can also be found throughout the area, many of which offer both shopping and dining. Trolley Square is a popular center in the area with a great directory, featuring stores like Whole Foods Market and Pottery Barn on top of eateries, boutiques, and services. One of the most popular places to shop is City Creek Center, which attracts patrons near and far. Stores for apparel, accessories, cosmetics, technology, home decor, and more can all be found within its amazing directory. There are lots of places to eat as well for those in need of a pit stop while shopping.
 

Things to Do

The Salt Lake Area is bursting with exciting activities to do in the neighborhood. Lively seasonal festivals, like the Utah Arts Festival and the Utah Blues Festival, are always a blast to attend. Social gatherings and community events, such as the Summer Outdoor Film Series hosted by the Utah Film Center, are a pleasure to participate in as well. 

The two most popular local sports teams are the Utah Jazz of the NBA and the Salt Lake Bees, the AAA minor league affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels baseball team.

Three main farmers markets operate in Salt Lake City: Downtown Farmers Market, People’s Market, and Liberty Park Farmers Market.

Several museums can be found throughout the region for those who enjoy art and culture, like the Utah Museum of Fine Arts and the Natural History Museum of Utah at The University of Utah. There are also places to catch live performances, such as Pioneer Theatre Company and Laughing Stock Improv. The Twilight Concert Series takes place every summer at the Gallivan Center.
 
Phenomenal entertainment complexes can also be found throughout the community, with The Gateway being one of the most bustling. With fun attractions like Megaplex Theatre, Clark Planetarium, Discover Gateway Children’s Museum, Wiseguys Comedy, and so much more, any trio here guarantees a good time for all ages. The center also offers lots of places to dine, making it a perfect place to spend a day. 
 
To enjoy the great outdoors, the Great Salt Lake State Park is a truly magical destination, especially for catching a sunrise or a sunset. In the colder months of the year, those craving a winter wonderland experience head to the Park City Mountain Resort or Deer Valley Resort, both of which can be reached in about a half hour, and have world-class skiing.
